4 survive as taxi falls 6m

Durban - Four people survived a six-metre fall in a minibus taxi in Durban on Monday night, said paramedics.

"It's miraculous no-one was killed," said ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks.

He said the taxi apparently swerved to avoid an oncoming car at the intersection of Berea and Manning roads and was struck on its side.

"With the impact, the taxi went through the railing and onto the N3," said Banks.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital with neck and back injuries.

"There were four occupants of the taxi. All four miraculously came out without serious injuries," he said.
