Happy slapping schoolboys 'killed Muslim pensioner, 67, in front of his grand-daughter for fun'
The schoolboys attacked Ekram Haque, 67, in front of his three year-old granddaughter, Marian.
Mr Haque, a retired care worker, collapsed after being hit twice over the head as he walked home in Church Lane, Tooting, South London.
He suffered severe brain injury when his head hit the pavement and died a week later in hospital.
The two killers, then aged 14 and 15, had attacked two other men only 20 seconds earlier in the same road.
They had also taken part in a happy-slapping attack on a married elderly couple five days previously, kicking and stamping on them in their own home.
Prosecutor Brian Altman QC told the Old Bailey: 'The prosecution says this was a wanton and cowardly attack which was quite deliberately targeted on middle-aged and elderly men for fun and for the defendants' own pleasure.
'They were planned and involved a shared intention to do their targeted victims physical harm, which indeed happened.'
The two killers regularly took part in a happy-slapping sprees, filming their violence on strangers under the name 'Lane Gang Productions'.
Mr Altman added:'Video clips recorded these two defendants in a so-called happy slapping spree called Lane Gang Productions, Lane referring to Church Lane.
'One of them strikes or slaps an unsuspecting person and the other records it on a
mobile phone or camera. 'The youths then run off jeering and laughing at these escapades.'
Three teenagers were originally charged with the murder of Ekram Haque, 67,and were due to stand trial this week.
