Police made their move around 2.10pm WST. A series of loud cracks echoed around the property as a number of officers took up position. The fire truck doused the house from a back entrance.
The water tactic was used simultaneously with a raid by police, helping them to overpower the man after lengthy negotiations with police and the man's family members failed.
