Man fights for life after ant bite gives him severe reaction in Wandiligong
A 75-year-old man is fighting for his life after being bitten by an ant in Victoria's northeast.The man is in a critical condition after being bitten by an ant and having a severe reaction in the small town of Wandiligong in Victoria's Alpine region this morning, Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said.
Mr Mullen did not know what sort of ant had bitten him.
He was rushed to the small Bright Hospital, a five-minute drive away, but there are plans to fly him by helicopter to the larger The Alfred hospital in Melbourne.
"He is in a critical condition and his obs (observations) are not good," Mr Mullen said:
