WORLD CUP 2010: Fabio Capello's lost it! No support from The FA, players or fans leave Italian facing the sack as England manager

Fabio Capello's tenure as England manager appeared to be over last night.

The Football Association insisted publicly that they will give themselves a fortnight to consider Capello's future after England went out of the World Cup to Germany in the second round.
But Sportsmail understands the FA hierarchy already believe it will be extremely difficult for Capello to continue amid the national backlash against the Italian and his squad.

Sir Dave Richards, the chairman of the newly formed Club England, will make the call following consultation with the full FA board, who are insisting on a say in such an important decision - not least because of the £12million remaining on Capello's contract that had a break clause removed by Richards before the tournament.
This explains the delay, as does the advice from senior FA figures to Richards not to make a knee-jerk reaction and to gauge widespread opinion first, much of which is strongly against the Italian.
This is a high risk policy with Roy Hodgson, the early favourite to succeed Capello, expected to complete a move from Fulham to Liverpool in the next two or three days.
