Uncle buries girl alive

A girl of six years was kidnapped, brutally beaten, raped and then buried, still alive in a forest in Goiás, a city of the Brazilian state of Pernambuco. Found by family and neighbors, the child eventually died in hospital, but not before denouncing the attackers: an uncle and a neighbor. The girl was abducted near home, where she played. Was beaten, raped and buried alive but badly hurt in a hole, and her body covered with soil, stones and leave
when they notice the girl's disappearance, the family alerted the neighbors. Then began thorough searches in the neighborhood but only after five hours the child was found when the makeshift grave in scrub raised suspicions. Transported to the local hospital, the girl still managed to give out the names of the attackers, one of them her own uncle. due to the severity of her injuries, she was transferred to another hospital, now in Recife, where she was admitted in a coma. she died shortly afterwards. Criminals are already held.

The 10 worst countries in the world to be a mother

The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Save the Children has published its annual report. The region of sub-Saharan Africa is the worst to have a child

There are places in the world - and still are many - where a simple sign of pregnancy should take risk of death. The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Save the Children has published its annual report, warning of the plight of sub-Saharan region, where lie eight of the ten worst countries for having children.

At the other extreme is Norway the best place for a happy motherhood. The NGO notes that it would suffice to give some training to groups of women in villages to reduce this drama by a third, as happened in Bangladesh. The ten countries where the infant mortality rate (one of the criteria followed by the NGO) is higher:

1.Afeganistão
2nd Niger
3. Chade
4. Guiné-Bissau

Not making the bed in the morning can keep people healthy

Scientists believe not making the bed in the morning can keep people health

A study by Kingston University, UK, suggests that while an unmade bed may look bad, it is also unattractive to mites, which scientists believe is responsible for asthma and other allergies.

The British study discovered that the insects can not survive in the dry heat of an unmade bed On average, one bed can hold up to one million and a half mites. the insects, which are less than a millimeter, they feed on human skin scales and produce allergens that are easily inhaled by humans, while sleeping The hot and humid envoirnment of occupied bed are ideal for thecreatures  but they are less likely to survive when the humidity decreases "Something as simple as letting you make the bed in the morning and let it be done during the day can remove moisture from the sheets and the mattress, causing the mites dehydrate and eventually die." Stresses the researcher, Dr. Stephen Pretlove .

David Huff Hit In Head By Alex Rodriguez Line Drive

NEW YORK — Indians pitcher David Huff was hit above the left ear by Alex Rodriguez's line drive Saturday and taken to a hospital, where a CT scan was negative.

The Indians said Huff never lost consciousness or experienced memory loss. He will remain at New York-Presbyterian Hospital for several hours as a precaution.

Huff immediately fell to the ground and lay motionless on his stomach after Rodriguez's drive – on Huff's 50th pitch – hit him and ricocheted into right field for an RBI double with one out in the third inning.

Trainers from both teams and players on the field ran to the mound. Rodriguez took a knee behind the mound and slammed his helmet. He remained there with his head bowed for a minute before going into the dugout.

After 6 minutes, trainers helped Huff onto his back and put him on a board with a neck brace. He gave a thumbs up and raised a hand to a huge ovation while being carted off the field.

Ardi Rizal, Sumatran 2-Year Old, Smokes 40 Cigarettes A Day

This is 2-year-old Ardi Rizal and he smokes up to 40 ciggies a day thanks to his dad who gave him his first taste of nicotine at 14-months-old. I don't whether to weep for his tiny lungs, or laugh at the thought of him rolling up to a group of smokers in his toy trunk to ask them for a hot fag.

Ardi's mother says that her son's habit costs the family around $5.50 a day and he only smokes one brand. Ardi's mother cried as she said, "He's totally addicted. If he doesn't get cigarettes, he gets angry and screams and batters his head against the wall. He tells me he feels dizzy and sick."

And it's totally not weird when Ardi reaches for a pack of cigs after drinking from his mom's tete or asks her for a light while she changes his diaper.

The government has agreed to give Ardi's family a new car if he quits. But Ardi's father, who is about to be named Person of the Century by the tobacco companies, doesn't know what the big deal is, "He looks pretty healthy to me. I don't see the problem." Just so you know, Ardi's father is legally blind and has no nostrils.

I don't see the problem either. So he'll get a voice box installed in his froat before he can make complete sentences. Regular talking is overrated! So he'll probably start craving a little whiskey with his cigarette. Bottom shelf booze is cheaper that baby food!

But serious talk, the family should take that car from the government and drive Ardi into the jungle to be raised by wild monkeys. He'll be better off.

The 4 Addictions That Destroy Your Dreams (They're Not What You Think)

In the midst of the economic meltdown ... with chaos and hardship everywhere, my business is growing, I'm happily married 17 years and counting, I'm connected with my two boys, I have a terrific social life, I'm physically fit and most important ... I'm happy! Is it possible during these challenging times to be this way?

I say yes!

Look, I have been to the lowest point in my life -- waking up in the gutter, wasted on drugs with no hope of ever changing my life. If I can turn my life around, so can you.

Today, as a success coach, I think of myself as a life strategist in a business world. I travel from city to city giving lectures and conducting seminars that help change people's lives. Guiding people toward greater success in their chosen field, while simultaneously enabling them to achieve a better balance across all the key areas of their lives -- that's what I do.

How is this type of turnaround possible?

I simply decided a long time ago to stop living by default and start to live By Design!

Now, what if I told you I could help you achieve the same results in your own life -- show you how to navigate the rough water we're all treading these days by creating a plan to not only survive but actually thrive in these difficult times?

As of July 2008, there were more than 123,000,000 Americans who were either struggling or suffering, in great part but not entirely due to the economic crisis. As things progressively get worse, that number continues to skyrocket, eclipsing the number of thriving Americans month after month.

Are you one of them?

To fully understand what holds us back from living to our fullest potential, you have to recognize that most people live life by default. What I mean by this is they fail to decide how they want their lives to be or have an unwillingness to do whatever it takes to make that happen, and simply accept things as they are. They believe they have no say or power to affect their course. But the bottom line about living by default, in my view, is that it represents choosing to be a victim!

Most people are living in what I refer to as an active coma. They're alive, functioning, but appear to be plugged into an imaginary life support, hoping someday when they wake up everything will be okay. Think about it; they've become victims of the circumstances of the world and they're doing little to nothing about it! They're suffering with the economy, the housing crises, politics, their finances or lack thereof, their relationships, their health and their emotional well-being, just to name a few. And they're stuck, concerned, worried and afraid to act! They're afraid to change, afraid to try a new approach; they're in a coma!

Why is it that some people live their lives full of love, abundance and purpose, what I would call a rich and full life, while others live in a state of fear, lack and indecision? It is because most of the world sees themselves as victims. They're always suffering. Now more than ever, adversity is destined to be on your path. Are you worried about losing your job, home, marriage, health or money? The question isn't how did you get here, but what will you do now?

When you realize that you've been living your life by default, you will become consciously aware that you are responsible for your choices. With 20 years and nearly 30,000 hours of success coaching behind me, I have learned that most people get comfortable suffering and accept things as they are too quickly, rather than choosing to change or try something new!

Aristotle said the formula for happiness and success is to "first, have a definite, clear, practical idea, goal or objective. Second, attain it by whatever means available, whether wisdom, money, materials, or methods. Third, adjust all your means to that end."

All success is predicated on finding what you are passionate about and then becoming relentless in your pursuit of every possibility so you will achieve your dreams.

When I was making some difficult decisions to change things up in my own life several years ago, my mentor and friend Mike Vance asked me five thought-provoking and life-altering questions to help me envision and then plan out the path I should take.

1. Why are you here -- what's your purpose?

2. How do you want to show up for others -- what are your values?

3. What are your God-given talents?

4. Five years from now, how is the world experiencing you?

5. Who would you already be if you were already there?

None of these questions was easy to answer, but they all got me thinking ... hard. It was as if a door had been opened that I never even knew existed. If I could identify these answers, anything was possible. All I had to do was figure out my next step. If I could do that, I could stop living by default and would discover the keys to creating a life, By Design.

The people living By Design live by a different set of rules. They know an upset is just an upset, their problems are assets and the past is where it belongs -- somewhere behind them. They aren't victims; they're victors, heroes if you will, because they are willing to jump through hoops to live the life they dream of. I've met people who don't have two nickels to rub together, as well as extremely successful business people that fall into this category. Living By Design isn't about how much money you have. It's a frame of mind that positively impacts every core area of your life. It isn't easy, but living By Design is hugely rewarding, and that my friend, is our goal.

The Four Addictions

I've discovered four addictions we all have that destroy more dreams, more hopes and more lives than alcohol, drugs, food, gambling or sex combined. When I refer to addictions, I am not focused on any of these. To me, those are habitual symptoms or effects brought on by four much larger causes that are the root cause of those symptoms.

They are:

1) The Addiction to opinions of other people. As a society, we're addicted to what others think about us and how others' views of the world affect us.

2) The Addiction to drama. Some people are drawn to and consumed by any event or situation that occupies their thoughts and fills their mind with negativity, which often brings attention to them in unproductive ways.

3) The Addiction to the past. These people have an unhealthy attachment to events or situations that have occurred in the past. They're stuck in how things used to be.

4) The Addiction to worry. This addiction is comprised of all the negative and self-defeating thoughts that make us anxious, disturbed, upset and stressed, that hold us back in life.

US Warns Of World Cup Terrorist Attacks In South Africa

The U.S. State Department has issued a travel alert to U.S citizens living in South Africa or traveling there for the World Cup.
"There is a heightened risk that extremist groups will conduct terrorist acts within South Africa in the near future," the department said in an alert Thursday. "While a number of terrorist threats against the World Cup in South Africa have appeared in the media in recent weeks and months, the U.S. government has no information on any specific, credible threat of attack that any individual or group is planning to coincide with the tournament."
The State Department said it would make any information public on "a specific and credible threat."
U.S. citizens were advised to keep car doors and windows locked while driving and not to leave valuables in plain view or to wear expensive jewelry.
The alert said public transportation is "poorly developed" and advised using rental cars or private transport instead. And when stopping at intersections at night or in isolated areas, it suggested leaving room for a "quick exit."
The State Department says its alerts are "about short-term conditions" in a country "that pose imminent risks to the security of U.S. citizens." Its warnings are "to describe long-term, protracted conditions that make a country dangerous or unstable."

Baby Survives After Being HIT BY TRAIN (VIDEO)

(AP) MELBOURNE, Australia - A 15-month-old boy escaped with just a few cuts and bruises on Wednesday after a train struck his stroller, which rolled onto the tracks when his grandmother looked away for just a moment.

The dramatic escape came just seven months after another baby in the southern city of Melbourne survived a train striking his stroller, which also had rolled onto the tracks.

Security camera footage of the latest incident shows the stroller rolling over the edge of the platform just as the train pulls into the station. The stroller is pushed a short distance down the tracks before the train comes to a halt in front of horrified people.

"It's absolutely amazing that this child isn't more injured than what he is, given the circumstances of the accident," paramedic Kate Jessop told reporters. "It would appear, amazingly, that it's nothing more than a couple of grazes and a big fright. ... I was assuming the worst as well and had those awful pictures in my head of a child underneath the train."
The baby and his 3-year-old brother were being cared for by their grandmother. She told officials she saw the stroller on the platform, looked away for a moment, and turned back to see it on the track, Jessop said.

Officials have not released the name of the grandmother, and paramedics said she was too distraught to talk.

The boy was in stable condition at Royal Children's Hospital. He suffered some minor facial bruising and grazes to his head, but otherwise appeared fine, Jessop said.

9 ghost towns of the recession

From Tampa to Dublin to Alicante and Dubai empty condos and villas that were never home to anyone, litter the landscape as a sterile reminder of a party that never was. But perhaps the biggest housing bubble of them all has just been popped - deliberately by the Chinese government who saw that Shanghai and Beijing real estate increases were unsustainable. Over the last month, Beijing housing prices have fallen at a unbelievable 377% annualized rate, possibly heralding part III of the Great recession following the US banking collapse and European sovereign debt crisis.
The most dramatic pictures in this collection are of the empty Chinese city of Ordos, which is a piece of government led, speculative development on a scale unimaginable elsewhere. An entire city waiting to be occupied. Ordos is not a failure yet, but if it is, it will be emblematic.
